Ingredients
- 2 ¼ fresh milled whole wheat flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 cup milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Cut butter into flour mixture with a fork or pastry cutter. Add milk and stir.
- Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead. Don’t over knead.
- Roll or pat dough into a ½ inch to ¾ inch thick round. Cut the dough with a cup or biscuit cutter and arrange on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 – 12 minutes or until nice and brown. Serve warm.
